Do these 3 things for your Christmas cactus in August, and in October it will bloom all over its branches - save this in advance

The Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera) is a green plant loved by many flower growers, with bright green or slightly purple stems and leaves, and deep red flowers that are very vivid and highly ornamental, and it can be placed on balconies, in living rooms and other places.
The Christmas cactus enters semi-dormancy when the temperature exceeds 30°C, so in summer it is basically in a semi-dormant or dormant period, but if you want it to bloom in October, you need to prepare in advance, especially in August, by doing these 3 things well, and once the weather turns cool, it will grow vigorously, its flower buds will shoot up rapidly, and the flowers will be plentiful and vivid.
1. Water less and ventilate more
When the Christmas cactus is in its semi-dormant period, its absorption capacity is low, so at this time you should water less to reduce the effect of excessive moisture on the root system, and you should keep the potting soil appropriately dry. You can spray some water around it to increase air humidity and lower the temperature. It is best to place it in a cool, well-ventilated place for care, so it can get through the summer better.
2. Moderate pruning
If the stems and leaves of the Christmas cactus are too dense and affect ventilation, and some stems and leaves turn yellow, wilt, and so on, prune them off in time to reduce excessive consumption of nutrients, prepare for the subsequent bud formation and flowering, and also prevent plant pests and diseases.
3. Bury a small amount of organic fertilizer
In August, the Christmas cactus has little demand for nutrients, but so that it can have sufficient nutrients when it resumes growth, and with little damage to the root system, you can bury a small amount of organic fertilizer in the potting soil. It is best to use one with slower and longer-lasting fertilizer effect. You can use crushed bones, which are rich in nutrients and rot and ferment slowly, causing little damage to the root system.
Specific method: collect some chicken, duck, fish and other bones, rinse them with boiling water 2-3 times, then put them in a pressure cooker and boil for one hour to separate the bones from the meat, then put the bones in the sun to dry completely, crush the bones into crushed bone, the finer the better, and after crushing, dry them in the sun for another 2-3 days.
Near the edge of the Christmas cactus pot, dig a few small holes, put a small amount of crushed bone in each small hole, then cover them with soil.
