Hydroponic flowers have a bad smell; add a few grains of this and the water stays clear for 30 days without changing it

Hydroponic flowers can be said to be a plant-growing method that many flower lovers like nowadays: clean, fresh, and easy to care for. Plus, with all kinds of nutrient solutions and granular fertilizers on the market now, they directly promote plant growth, and the nutrient supply for hydroponic plants is in no way inferior to that of soil-grown plants. As a result, all kinds of hydroponic plants have appeared: hydroponic pothos, hydroponic lucky bamboo, hydroponic spider plant, hydroponic hyacinth, hydroponic anthurium, hydroponic gardenia, hydroponic clivia, hydroponic money tree, and even hydroponic cactus and hydroponic succulents are very common.
There are many plants that can be grown hydroponically, but after summer arrives, you run into water spoilage, with the water in the bottle turning yellow and smelling bad. Changing the water every day does work, but it is not a good solution either! Not to mention the waste of water, it is also extremely unfavorable to plant growth. Below, Shitou will explain why hydroponic plants develop spoiled, smelly water in summer and how to solve it!
Summer temperatures are relatively high, making it a suitable season for bacteria and microorganisms to breed. And it is impossible for household flower growing to be in a completely sterile environment, so bacterial growth cannot be avoided. On top of that, many flower lovers leave their hydroponic flowers in one spot for half a month or even a month without moving them at all. In fact, putting the vase in a cool place will breed many bacteria that like dark, weak light, while putting the vase in a place with good light will breed light-loving microorganisms. The little trick I want to share with everyone today is to add small granules of activated carbon to the water. Everyone knows that activated carbon has a very good water-purifying effect. It can adsorb impurities and microorganisms in the water and also has a certain sterilizing and disinfecting effect, while not affecting the normal growth of plants. It can effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria in the water, prevent water spoilage, and stop yellow water and bad smells from appearing.
When using activated carbon, choose to add a few grains of activated carbon to the water after each water change; they will automatically sink to the bottom and adsorb impurities in the water. There are many kinds of activated carbon on the market: wood activated carbon, nut-shell activated carbon, coal-based activated carbon, and so on. It is recommended to use granular wood activated carbon and nut-shell activated carbon.
Besides using activated carbon to purify water, in daily flower growing you also need to pay attention to:
1. Do not add other debris or contaminated decorations to the water of hydroponic plants.
2. Have a basically fixed water-change cycle, and do not change the water too frequently. It is recommended that after adding activated carbon, you generally change the water once every 30 days. Changing the water too frequently is not good for plant growth, because the plant roots soaking in water not only absorb nutrients from the water, but also release some substances to adjust the water environment to suit their own growth. Changing the water too frequently will disrupt the plant's growing environment and instead fail to have a positive effect.
Regarding the little tricks for hydroponic plants in summer, if your hydroponic plants have poor water quality, you can try a few grains of activated carbon!
