Money Tree Leaves Turning Yellow? Learn These Few Little Tricks to Restore It to Normal

The money tree (Pachira aquatica) is the most popular indoor foliage plant, and it can also be shaped into all kinds of forms, which look truly beautiful. It also symbolizes bringing in wealth and treasure, so it is deeply loved by everyone. But when caring for it, you always run into problems like yellowing and dropping leaves. What exactly should you do to make the money tree full of life?
Watering Problems
Although the money tree likes to grow in a moist environment, too much watering will prevent its roots from breathing properly, and in the end the roots will simply rot, causing the leaves to turn yellow or even killing the plant outright. So you need to immediately move the plant to a cool, ventilated environment, then place some water-absorbing cotton cloth under the bottom of the pot, and loosen the soil. If the soil still hasn't dried out, then you need to change the soil. From then on, when watering, just wait until the soil is slightly dry and then water thoroughly.
Light
The money tree likes plenty of light, but it does not like direct strong sunlight. If you don't provide some shade in summer, its leaves will turn yellow, so you need to move it to a semi-shaded environment, then water it appropriately, and once it slowly grows new leaves, you can go back to normal care. But at midday in summer, when the temperature is stronger, you need to provide some shade.
Temperature Too High
The suitable growing temperature for the money tree is 20~30°C. In summer the temperature is higher, and the air is relatively dry, so water evaporates fairly quickly, and it is very easy for the money tree's leaves to dry out and turn yellow. So when growing it in summer, you can spray some clean water around the money tree or move it into an air-conditioned room to cool it down.
Branches and Leaves Too Dense
The money tree grows fairly quickly. If you have never pruned its branches and leaves, then it will become too dense, causing the lower leaves to get insufficient light and inadequate ventilation, which makes them turn yellow and drop. So if you want the money tree to grow well, you need to properly prune some branches. After pruning, it will grow new branches and become even more lush than before.
