The Umbrella Tree (Schefflera) is evergreen year-round. Grown at home, it adds natural vitality, purifies the air, and beautifies the environment. If you want to grow the Umbrella Tree well, fertilizing is key. Proper fertilizing keeps the foliage dense. Let's take a look at the fertilizing tips for the Umbrella Tree!

Fertilizing tips for the Umbrella Tree:

(1). Choose the fertilizer well. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers need to be balanced and sufficient. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, as it easily causes leggy branches and affects the plant's appearance. Other elements are also indispensable, but not in excess, otherwise deficiency symptoms are likely to appear, leading to poor plant growth. You can choose decomposed organic fertilizer or inorganic fertilizer, and you can buy a specialized fertilizer at the flower market.

(2). During the growing season of the Umbrella Tree, fertilize once a week; from April to September, apply a light fertilizer once a month to provide the nutrients needed for growth. Do not fertilize too much, otherwise the Umbrella Tree will drop its leaves.

(3). In spring and autumn, mainly apply liquid fertilizer. When the plant is growing rapidly, apply liquid fertilizer once a month, choosing organic fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other elements. After fertilizing, combine with watering so the plant can absorb nutrients better.

(4). In summer, pay attention to high temperatures. When the temperature is above 30°C, reduce fertilizing, generally applying fertilizer once every 4 to 5 weeks; when the temperature is below 30°C, apply fertilizer once every 2 to 3 weeks. Also be careful to apply less nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise the leaves will be rather green.

(5). In winter, try not to fertilize. The plant is in its dormant period, so you can stop fertilizing. If you do fertilize, you can water moderately, which can prevent the soil from compacting.
