1. How do you water a gardenia?

Because the clivia has fleshy roots with a strong water-storage capacity, the clivia should not be watered too much. So how do you judge whether a clivia needs watering?
The simplest method is to directly use your hand or a wooden stick inserted into the soil to check. Insert it about one third of the way into the potting soil and check. If it is moist, there is no need to water. If it is dry, then it needs water. What to note here is that when you water, water thoroughly; do not give it a half watering. Also, when watering a clivia, water must not flow into the center of its leaves, otherwise it will cause the core to rot, and in serious cases it will cause the clivia to die outright.
