More and more people are growing flowers now. As a very interesting pastime, growing some plants and flowers has many benefits: it beautifies the environment and lifts your mood. After growing them for a while, you naturally pick up some experience and tips. For example, the most widely known ones are watering flowers with fermented rice water, using willow twig infusion as a rooting agent, and watering clivia with beer diluted in water, and so on.

Growing flowers is a skill that takes constant thought and experimentation. Next, I will share a little trick for growing flowers. With "1 spoonful of oil" you can easily replace fertilizer and grow healthy potted flowers. This oil is not ordinary oil. It is waste oil from the kitchen, or more precisely, the waste oil from a range hood.

Below is the treasure for growing flowers.

After a range hood has been used for a long time, it easily accumulates quite a bit of waste oil. To other people this stuff is garbage and gets thrown away. To a flower grower, though, it is a treasure. Why do I say that? Because this waste oil contains so many trace elements and nutrients. Nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, you name it. Put simply, it is what accumulates from peanut oil, corn oil and the like volatilizing at high heat during cooking.

Using this kind of waste oil to grow flowers, with nutrients so rich, really rivals special flower fertilizer. When using it, the process is quite simple. Whether it is kalanchoe or geranium, or spider plant, clivia and other flowers, you can dig a few small holes in the potting soil and then pour the waste oil directly in.

Or you can just pour it directly along the rim of the pot. 1 small spoonful of oil is enough; do not put too much in the pot. This way you can go at least half a year without fertilizing, and the potted flowers will still grow vigorously.

There are many other "waste" items in daily life that can be used to grow flowers. Besides the waste oil from the range hood, the water left from washing vegetables, leftover soy milk, overnight tea, and apple peels, watermelon rinds and so on can all be used to grow flowers. Take fruit peels, for example. The solution made by fermenting fruit peels, commonly known as "fruit peel enzyme", is also a very good fertilizer for watering flowers. It can also adjust the pH of the soil.

For growing flowers, learning knowledge and techniques is the prerequisite. More important is that you care for every plant and flower with your heart. Only with attentive care can you harvest beautiful flowers and plants. Many people say they cannot keep flowers alive; in fact, it is really not that they do not understand, but that they are not attentive.

In the past, I also killed quite a few flowers, and I thought I had been cheated by the vendors at the flower market. Later I realized that every kind of potted flower has a different growth habit. First, you cannot copy knowledge blindly; second, you have to learn to figure things out yourself.

That is all for the knowledge about growing flowers. Thank you for reading!
