You do not need to buy kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana); just pick a leaf and stick it in a pot to easily propagate several new plants

I do not know when it started, but I fell in love with kalanchoe, especially when it blooms; set off by the green leaves, it looks even more lovely and charming. So when many people go to the flower shop to buy plants, they choose a pot of kalanchoe.
When we normally grow kalanchoe, we all prune the branches and leaves, and we should not waste the cuttings; stick them in to root, and maybe several more pots will grow! So today, Huahua will teach you how to leaf-propagate kalanchoe!
First we need to select suitable leaves from the original kalanchoe. Besides making sure there are no yellow leaves or disease spots on them, we should also try to use the kind that is large and thick, so that it has enough energy to support rooting; otherwise, leaves that are too thin or too small will naturally grow very slowly.
For the picked leaves, we can first soak them in rooting water for a while, which can speed up the rate at which their roots grow. Then take them out and put them in a cool place; after the water has evaporated and the wounds have healed, we can plant them in the soil.
To propagate kalanchoe by cuttings, we can use a flower pot or a seedling box, but it is best to use a slightly larger seedling box, because this can both maintain the humidity for the leaves to root and grow and also avoid squeezing and damaging the leaves. As for the soil, we can use nutrient soil, so that we do not need to fertilize and can still ensure its nutrient supply.
We just need to gently cover the lower end of the kalanchoe leaf with soil, then mist it with a spray bottle, and finally put the lid on. An environment like this can make it root faster. At this time, we should place them in a bright, indirect-light environment and not let too strong sunlight shine on them, otherwise the leaves will easily wilt.
After a period of time, we open it and mist some water, then check whether its leaves are healthy. If using a flower pot, it should still be placed in a properly shaded and ventilated place. Overall, kalanchoe leaf propagation still grows quite slowly, so we need to wait patiently until it sprouts, and then it can be transplanted into a slightly larger flower pot.
