Its leaves look like those of a bowl lotus, and its flowers are beautiful; it blooms 365 days a year and is easy to care for

When it comes to growing flowers and plants, besides the common flowering potted plants in the flower market, there are still many flowers in the vast world worth growing. For example, the flower I am going to share with you next. Its leaves are like those of a "bowl lotus", and also like pennywort. The flowers it produces are very bright and beautiful. I guess some flower lovers are already growing it too!
This flower is the "nasturtium". Its flowering period is very long; if the environment is suitable and care is proper, it blooms almost continuously throughout the year, that is, it blooms 365 days a year. How could such a wonderful flower be left out! Let us take a look at the elegance of the nasturtium and see how to care for it. Flower lovers must grow a few pots at home!
The picture below shows the beautiful nasturtium:
Nasturtium flowers come in many colors; purple-red, orange-red, cream yellow and others are all very beautiful. Growing one pot at home gives high ornamental value. Quite a few flower lovers have already discovered it and started caring for it. With this flower, a single bloom can last 8-9 days, and the whole plant can open dozens or even hundreds of flowers at the same time, with a fragrant scent. It can be said to be a very good flower.
How do you care for nasturtium?
If you want to grow nasturtium so that its leaves are as grand as a bowl lotus and as glossy green as pennywort, you must care for it strictly according to its growth habits.
1. About temperature and light:
First of all, it likes a mild climate, and the suitable growing temperature is 18-24°C. It is most averse to severe cold and intense heat, so now that the weather is hot, remember to cool it down. Once the temperature is higher than 30°C, its growth will be inhibited. Another point is that nasturtium is not suitable to be placed in direct sunlight, so remember to shade it in summer.
2. About watering:
Nasturtium needs to be kept slightly moist; it likes moisture but fears waterlogging. For watering, it is suggested to water once every two days in summer, and in the morning or evening you can spray water onto the leaves. In spring and autumn, watering twice a week is enough. Besides watering with tap water for care, nasturtium is quite suitable for watering with "fermented rice-washing water". This is because nasturtium likes a slightly acidic environment, with a pH between 5-6 being best. It just so happens that fermented rice-washing water is acidic and can lower the pH of the potting soil. This in turn helps nasturtium grow into a full pot.
3. About fertilizing:
Growing flowers follows the saying "three parts fertilizer, seven parts water". Having covered watering, fertilizer is naturally also very important. Nasturtium should be fertilized frequently, because it blooms quite vigorously, has strong growth power, and needs more nutrients. It is best to apply a thin fertilizer solution once every month. In the early stage of flowering, you can use fermented soybean cake water at a concentration of 20%, or a small amount of compound fertilizer. But remember, nasturtium cannot be fertilized in summer. When it blooms, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer, and you can replace it with thin manure.
