We like growing flowers at home, and this phenomenon has become commonplace. So how do we grow some rather attractive flowers with rather vivid colors at home? We may not be able to grow roses and the like at home, but we can grow violets, which are just as vibrant as roses; when violets bloom, they can compare with roses, and both are extremely beautiful.

There are quite a few violet varieties, and the colors are very rich, so many flower-growing friends quite like this plant, the violet. Violets are also fairly easy to grow; the aspects we need to pay attention to are just those few common issues, namely soil, light, fertilizing, and similar matters. As long as we pay attention to these aspects, there are basically no major problems.

Soil: we certainly need to make the soil loose, and violets rather like to grow in fertile soil, so we mix a lot of materials into the soil to change it. Besides making the soil loose, it also needs to be fertile, so we can sprinkle on some wood shavings, and we can also look for soil by the river to plant in. We can appropriately add some organic matter to the soil, thereby increasing the supply of nutrients for violet growth. The drainage performance of the potting soil must be good; in addition, its water retention performance must also be strong.

Moreover, we also need to control the pH value, because violets are mostly on the acidic side, and it is best to keep it around pH 5. Violets are fairly undemanding about light; they rather like growing in a semi-shaded environment. If the light is too strong, it will cause damage to the plant's leaves, and may even make them withered and yellow. Too much shade is also not acceptable; the flowers will then bloom rather pale, and if the color is not so vivid, then it will not look good.

And sometimes there will be a phenomenon of only growing leaves and not blooming. The best growing method is all-day diffused light, so violets will grow very beautifully. Therefore, if we grow them at home, the best position is on the balcony. Of course, we should find a somewhat larger plant to place beside them, so that it can shade the violets, and the violets will not be exposed to the sun's scorching heat.

We also need to maintain a certain degree of moisture, because violets grow most perfectly in a moist environment. A moist environment does not mean watering the violets more, but rather maintaining the overall moisture of the violets. We can spray a layer of water on the surface of the violets every day, and then we can ensure their leaves are moist. In winter, when the temperature is rather low, we do not need to water so much; just keep the soil moist, and there is no need to soak it through.

Fertilizing is also very key. The fertilizer violets need is rather special; it is nitrate-type fertilizer, and they also need a large amount of calcium. Therefore, when fertilizing, we had best choose calcium nitrate fertilizer. During the growth period, we only need to fertilize the plant once every 10 days, and after the flower buds come out, we fertilize once more, and then the flowers will bloom large and vivid.
