If bougainvillea wants to bloom more and grow into a big flower ball, it all comes down to these 6 words

Bougainvillea is different from other flowers. If you want it to bloom, you must control its water and give it plenty of light. And if you want it to bloom more, you must prune it, and you must prune it hard, because the harder you cut, the more it will bloom next time! Today I will tell you: how to do these three things well? So your bougainvillea can grow into a big flower ball!
First, pruning
Cut all the branches short. You must prune hard and not be reluctant to do it. First, branches that are too long do not look good. Second, if you do not prune, it will not grow side shoots, and with no side shoots, it will definitely not grow flower buds, let alone bloom more!
Second, light
Bougainvillea, whether grown outdoors or indoors, if you want it to bloom, it must be placed in a sunny spot. Let it get as much sun as possible for as long as possible. It is not afraid of sun, and when grown outdoors in summer it does not need shade.
Third, water control
Whether bougainvillea can bloom or not, this point is very important. If you do not control water, it will definitely not bloom, so if you want it to bloom, you must be cruel and cut off its water.
How do you control water? Wait until the potting soil is completely dry and the leaves are wilting, then give it a small amount of water around the edge of the pot (after watering, the leaves will perk up). This small amount of water only needs to last 2-3 days. Before it produces flower buds, keep watering this way. After about 40 days, it will produce flower buds.
After the flower buds appear, water normally, then give it monopotassium phosphate once every 10 days (diluted with water and poured at the roots), and stop fertilizing when the flower buds are about to open. It is not hard to grow bougainvillea well. As long as you remember these six words, pruning, light, and water control, growing it into a big flower ball is no problem at all!
