In recent years, growing plants has become a trend for many people, and growing some fruit has also become a favorite for many. Today Hua'er will also introduce two kinds of fruit, passion fruit and figs. A single branch can take root, they are very easy to care for, and the fruit hangs all over the branches. You can pick them whenever you want to eat them, saving money and completely natural.

Both passion fruit and figs can be propagated by cuttings. Choose healthy branches, keep the length at 10-15cm, retain 2-3 leaves at the top, then soak them in diluted potassium permanganate for sterilization and disinfection; vermiculite can be used as the growing medium, and when taking cuttings you can dip them in rooting hormone to promote rooting.

After the cuttings are done, water them thoroughly, then place them in a cool, ventilated place and keep them moist. You can water them every day. After about one month they will take root and sprout, and once the roots reach 3-5cm they can be transplanted.

Passion fruit

When transplanting passion fruit, keep some of the old soil with it so it can adapt to the environment faster and increase the survival rate. After the young seedling grows to 30-40cm, you need to set up a trellis for it so it can climb along the trellis.

Because it grows vigorously and bears a great deal of fruit, it needs sufficient water, fertilizer and light. Since it is a vine plant, once the branches grow to a certain length you should pinch off the growing tips in time to encourage side buds to sprout and grow, making the plant more vigorous and bear more fruit.

Fig

When transplanting figs, choose a relatively deep flower pot, and put plenty of base fertilizer at the bottom, so it can grow better with lush branches and leaves.

Every fig hides a wasp inside, and if you want figs to bear more fruit and make the fruit larger and sweeter, besides ensuring sufficient fertilizer, water and light, it is best to place a four-season osmanthus or plant some rapeseed flowers nearby, so more wasps can be attracted to help with pollination.

That is all for the propagation and care of passion fruit and figs. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about growing flowers, you can follow Huajianke!
