What to do when the leaves of pennywort turn yellow? A few simple steps to bring back its glossy green

The leaves of pennywort (Hydrocotyle vulgaris) are round and glossy, and the plant is small and neat, which makes it a favorite among many plant growers. But sometimes the leaves turn yellow as you keep growing it, and it loses its original ornamental value. Don't worry, as long as you figure out these few factors, the pennywort will quickly return to a glossy green, and it will grow better and better.
Water
Because it grows in water, water is naturally the key factor in the growth of pennywort. Once the water goes bad, it can easily affect the growth of pennywort, so changing the water frequently is very necessary. Summer is stuffy and hot, and the water easily spoils, so we need to change the water about every 5 days, while in winter about once every half a month is enough.
Nutrients
Yellowing leaves of pennywort are also closely related to a lack of nutrients. When changing the water, we can drip a few drops of nutrient solution into the water and shake it gently a few times, which can fully dilute the nutrient solution and also increase the oxygen content in the water.
If, when changing the water, we find sticky stuff covering the root system of the pennywort, that may mean there are too many microorganisms in the water. At this point we should not drip in nutrient solution, but instead wash the root system clean and replace it with fresh water.
Light
Pennywort likes a partial-sun environment. If it stays in a shaded place with no light, the leaves will become dull in color and turn yellow. So we should appropriately increase the light, with about 4 hours of diffused light per day being suitable, and it must not be directly exposed to the sun.
Ventilation
Pennywort likes a warm, humid environment with good ventilation. If the environment is poorly ventilated, or the plant is too dense, which affects its ventilation and air circulation, it will cause yellow leaves. We need to ventilate the pennywort in time, and also prune some branches and leaves to increase ventilation and light.
Temperature
Pennywort has weak cold tolerance, so in winter we must keep it warm and give it sufficient light. In summer the temperature is high and the light is strong, so it cannot be given full light; diffused light should be the main thing, and when necessary, sprinkle water on the ground to lower the temperature and increase humidity.
If the pennywort at home has a lot of yellow leaves, the editor suggests dividing the pennywort, keeping the good parts and replanting them, so that a fresh, glossy pot will grow again.
