Using beer to grow orchids: pay attention to the technique so they thrive with lush foliage

Orchids have a rather quirky nature. They like cool, humid environments and also prefer slightly acidic soil, so when growing orchids you must keep the soil moist and acidic, and provide rich, ample nutrients. With circulating air to help out, there is no worry that the orchids will fail to flourish. But during orchid cultivation, technique is also very important. Never cut corners and overlook the details. Details determine success or failure. As long as the details are handled well, the orchids will naturally grow obediently.
You might think beer can only be drunk by people. NONONO, it can also serve as plant food, because beer is a fermented product containing large amounts of carbon dioxide, sugar, protein and other nutrients. Some densely growing orchids are watered with beer diluted in water. It is precisely because beer is acidic, which suits their preference, that it can deliver such great results. If you frequently water orchids with diluted beer, the orchid leaves will be glossy green. That is what it means to make the most of what you have.
The points to note when mixing it are as follows:
1. Mix water and beer at a ratio of 1 to 50 for root feeding and leaf feeding, plus 550ml of clean water or the usual amount. Pour in 2 bottle caps of beer and then dilute with water until the bottle is suitably full. At this point, using the diluted beer to water the roots in the flowerpot and spray the leaves are both good choices. As a watering nutrient, beer is both economical and easy to use. Most importantly, it has a high safety factor. If you have little kids at home, you might as well try this method.
2. After mixing the diluted beer, before spraying, be sure to remember to first wipe the orchid leaves clean with a clean tissue or cloth. When wiping, pay special attention to how much pressure you use, otherwise it is easy to snap and damage its branches and leaves. Why wipe the leaves? Because orchid leaves left in the air for a long time will more or less be covered with a layer of dirt. After wiping them clean, the effective absorption of the beer is promoted. To make the leaves vivid and attractive, be sure to remember this point.
3. Some flower lovers, for the sake of speed, directly water with beer. This is the biggest mistake of all. Undiluted beer, after mixing with the substances released by the orchids, will produce a strong sour, foul odor. The orchid's gas exchange is not smooth, and this is its protest! Beer is certainly good as a nutrient, but everything must have a limit. During its growing season in spring and summer, water it once every half month. Watering too much will cause the orchid to wither and lose its spirit. Remember that watering should be about the same as your usual water amount.
