Taiwan Agricultural Technology Exhibition Showcases Strength, Asia-Pacific Joins Hands to Create the Future

Asia's largest exhibition organizer, UBM Asia's Taiwan branch, expanded the "2018 Asia-Pacific Agricultural Technology Exhibition and Conference" from July 26 to July 28 of this year (2018) at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. This year, a total of 210 exhibitors from our country and 19 countries participated, and buyers from 34 countries/regions have already scheduled visits to Taiwan. With the three main axes of innovative technology, environmentally friendly practices, and sustainable development, it aims to build an international professional industry chain trading platform for agricultural technology, making Taiwan a hub for agricultural technology in the Asia-Pacific region. The Council of Agriculture served as a co-organizer of this conference and set up the "Taiwan Agricultural Technology Image Pavilion" to actively market Taiwan's agricultural technology achievements, align with the regional agricultural development goals of the New Southbound Policy for agriculture, open up New Southbound markets, and increase opportunities for exporting agricultural materials.

The Council of Agriculture explained that last year (2017), UBM Asia held the 2017 Asia-Pacific Agricultural Technology Exhibition and Conference in Taiwan for the first time. The Council of Agriculture's "Taiwan Agricultural Technology Image Pavilion" invited technology transfer operators of the council's research and development achievements to exhibit, facilitating cooperation negotiations with 17 foreign companies. Six operators, including Namiya Fermentation Co., Ltd., Synbio Biotech Co., Ltd., and Taiding Activity Tent Co., Ltd., have successfully signed international cooperation orders, with product order value reaching 16.95 million yuan. Subsequent related investments arising from market demand offer unlimited business opportunities.

The Council of Agriculture stated that in order to lead Taiwan's agricultural technology and products into the international market, market technologies and products with international potential, and facilitate order negotiations with domestic and foreign buyers, this year's "Taiwan Agricultural Technology Image Pavilion" exhibited 30 agricultural technology innovations and products under the theme of agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industries, inviting technology-receiving operators to exhibit, with the expectation of doubling matchmaking negotiation performance. At the same time, a "Taiwan Seed and Seedling Pavilion" was also set up, gathering domestic operators to exhibit high-quality seed and seedling products, marketing Taiwan's seed and seedling industry as a whole. It is hoped that through public-private collaboration, internationally competitive and innovative products and technologies will be marketed, increasing agricultural output value and enhancing the export potential of agricultural materials.
