Don't panic if your lucky bamboo has yellow leaves - with normal care it will grow roots and new leaves in seven days

Thanks for following Balcony Gardener, where I share more knowledge and experience about growing flowers.
When lucky bamboo is first brought home and placed in water, yellow leaves will appear for 3-5 days, which means the yellowing starts with the lowest few leaves first. When you first buy it, there are a great many leaves and water consumption is very high, so the lower leaves begin to turn yellow and wither to reduce the plant's water consumption. Some flower growers run into this situation: after pulling off the leaves, there are still rings of yellow on the stem. This is not a disease, it is just that when you pulled the leaves off, you did not pull them off cleanly and left the very base of the leaf behind, so there is no need to panic. If the entire stem has turned yellow all the way through, then the stem is also severely short of water, and that really is hard to fix.
Lucky bamboo has somewhat higher care requirements, and water and fertilizer are both secondary. In the vase used to grow lucky bamboo, the water level is very important, about 15 cm deep. Too shallow is not good: the space for rooting is too cramped, and the few roots produced have a big impact on water absorption, with the most obvious sign being that the lucky bamboo leaves will not be so glossy. Too deep is also not good: if the roots fill the vase, it lowers the ornamental value.
Lucky bamboo has very low nutrient requirements, but using fertilizer is definitely better than not using it. However, when fertilizing, either use a little of a good fertilizer, or do not use any at all. When you fertilize lucky bamboo, the fertilizer dissolves in the water and directly touches the roots, and some poor fertilizers may burn the roots of the lucky bamboo to death outright. It is best to use some liquid fertilizer, as its strength is gentler, the nutrient solution is more complete, and one bottle can be used for a very long time.
Flower growers must remember that lucky bamboo cannot be placed in direct sunlight. Do not feel that because it has not seen light for a long time, you should move it outside to sun it; the summer sunlight is so strong that it can easily turn all the leaves yellow. Only in a bright, ventilated environment will lucky bamboo grow glossy and full of vitality.
I have shared the complete set of lucky bamboo care with you all, and I hope your lucky bamboo grows well.
