My family runs the air conditioner every day, yet our electricity bill is the lowest in the neighborhood. When the neighbors found out, they were all green with envy.

In summer, everyone is unbearably hot, and we all rely on the cool air from the air conditioner to give us some relief. But using the air conditioner every day comes with one big problem: the electricity bill is too expensive to bear! However, that is not an issue in our home. Even though I turn on the air conditioner every day, our electricity bill is still the lowest in the neighborhood. When the neighbors next door found out, they were so jealous their eyes turned red!
My first little trick for saving on electricity bills is to place a basin of water in the room. The principle at work here is that the water basin cools the room down. Because of the water basin, the room temperature drops, so I can set my air conditioner a bit higher. Do not underestimate it: save a little electricity each day, and over a month you can save a lot of electricity!
My second little trick is that I often take out the filter and wash it clean. If you ignore a filter, it will really get so dirty in a corner that mushrooms grow on it, which is not a good thing at all. After washing it thoroughly, the air conditioner works much more efficiently, and naturally that also saves quite a bit on the electricity bill.
My third little trick is that I protect our air conditioner's outdoor unit. I put a little sun-protection cover on it. Just as people need sun protection, air conditioners need sun protection too. If the sun protection is not adequate, heat dissipation and performance suffer, and that burns a lot of electricity. After putting on the little sun-protection cover, the air conditioner really uses much less electricity!
