The weather is hot, and all the flowers at home are drooping their heads, only the coral bells are still lively, colorful, and full of life. Coral bells are very versatile; plant a few around any flower, and it will instantly look better! Today, Huahua will take everyone to enjoy a batch of beautiful pictures of coral bells!

Coral bells - the palette God knocked over

Coral bells are full of vitality, mostly growing in low bushes, with red, green, yellow, and purple, bright and eye-catching, like a palette God accidentally knocked over and spilled into the human world.

In gardens and along the paths of wooded areas, coral bells of various colors are often planted together, giving a rather fairy-tale atmosphere~

Mixed coral bells are certainly beautiful, but single-color coral bells are no less impressive; plant a large patch, let them bloom to the fullest, and they are still dazzling!

Coral bells are not only bright; light blue-green, lotus-pink, and deep purple coral bells can become very calm and serene~

After the rain, the coral bells' leaves are dotted with water drops, clean and beautiful!

After seeing such beautiful coral bells, flower lovers must really want to grow a pot, so Huahua will now teach everyone how to grow coral bells!

How to care for coral bells in summer?

1. Provide appropriate shade

Although coral bells like sunlight, they are also fairly shade-tolerant, suitable for growing at the base of a wall, on an east- or west-facing balcony, or under a large tree outdoors, and they should be protected from direct strong light.

2. Do not water too frequently

Coral bells have shallow roots and are most afraid of waterlogging and root rot, so in summer watering twice a week is enough. When watering, do not pour water into the leaf center, otherwise when the sun hits the water droplets, the leaves easily rot.

3. Ventilation is very important

For foliage plants, ventilation in summer is very important, so be sure to open the windows more and move them outdoors to grow if possible!

How do coral bells propagate? - Leaf cuttings

The simplest way to propagate coral bells is leaf cuttings; the operation is simple and the survival rate is high!

Cutting steps

1. Cutting medium: Mix vermiculite, perlite, and peat at a ratio of 5:3:2 to ensure a certain degree of breathability and water retention. After mixing, put it in a transparent plastic bottle, but do not fill it too full; about 1/2 is enough.

2. Select leaves: From the coral bells plant, pick healthy, complete leaves that have a base.

3. Cuttings: Put the selected leaves in a plastic cup; 2~3 leaves per cup is enough.

4. Fill with soil: Hold the leaf with one hand and fill the medium with the other. After filling, water thoroughly once, then move to a semi-shaded place and care for it with good ventilation. During this period, be sure to water more to keep the substrate moist.

5. Generally, roots will form in about 20 days, and after one week of rooting, transplant and set them in place!
