There are many reasons why pothos leaves rot: if it is caused by overwatering, it needs to be placed in a spot with light and good ventilation, and the amount of watering should be slightly reduced. If it is caused by poor ventilation, you need to open the windows for ventilation, and close the windows at night in winter. If it is caused by cold damage, it needs to be kept indoors in winter with good insulation. If it is caused by pests and diseases, you need to spray it with a pesticide and cut off the rotten leaves.

1. Water Reasonably

Cause: Although pothos likes water, there must not be standing water in the potting soil. Once excess standing water appears, the plant's roots will rot, and the leaves will turn yellow and rot.

Solution: It should be placed in a spot with light and good ventilation so that the excess water evaporates as quickly as possible, and the rotten leaves should be cut off from the middle and the cut surfaces disinfected. The amount of water given normally should be well controlled; just keep the soil in a moist state, and there must never be standing water.

2. Improve Ventilation

Cause: Pothos likes moisture, but if the water evaporates rather slowly and the growing environment is not well ventilated, the remaining water will stay on the leaves, and over time the leaves will rot.

Solution: Open the windows often for ventilation to ensure air circulation in the growing environment. At night in winter, the windows should be closed, otherwise the plant will be damaged by cold, and do not let cold wind blow on it directly.

3. Pay Attention to Insulation

Cause: In winter, the temperature of the growing environment will be very low. After the plant suffers cold damage, the leaves will turn black, and then the leaves will rot.

Solution: It needs to be kept in a relatively warm place indoors, and the rotten roots should be cut off; if the temperature is too low, good insulation work should be done.

4. Prevent and Control Pests and Diseases

Cause: If the plant is harmed by pests and diseases, many spots will appear on the leaves. As the condition worsens, the spots will increase, and the leaves will rot.

Solution: After discovering that the plant is harmed by pests and diseases, the corresponding pesticide should be sprayed promptly, and the leaves affected by the disease should also be cut off.
