Orchids have a simple, quiet, elegant and noble character, and are deeply loved by many flower enthusiasts. In the summer months of July and August, with sustained high temperatures, many places are like a blazing furnace, and many orchid growers complain that their orchids have recently developed severe dry, scorched tips, and no matter how they cool them down or spray water, it does not work.

Today Hua'er will introduce to everyone that when growing orchids in summer, you should spray this kind of "active water" for protection, to minimize the dry, scorched tips of orchids and help them get through the summer better.

In July and August, when the daily average temperature exceeds 30°C, water evaporates too quickly, and activity decreases, resistance also decreases, and the orchids enter a stage of slow or stopped growth. Therefore, by artificially increasing the activity of orchids, this kind of "active water" is willow branch water, because willow branches contain a large amount of salicylic acid, willow acid, etc., which can increase orchid activity, boost resistance, and reduce dry, scorched tips.

Specific method: collect a few robust, tender willow branches of the current year, remove the leaves, cut them into small segments, crush them, put them in a container, add an appropriate amount of water to soak (in summer you can use condensed water, that is, air conditioner water), soak overnight and then it is ready to use. When watering, take the supernatant liquid and slowly pour it in from the edge. Water once every 3 days, and it can increase the activity of orchids, boost resistance, and help them get through the summer better.

In addition to increasing activity, leaves that have already developed dry, scorched tips should also be trimmed off in time, and plants that are too vigorous should also be pruned appropriately to increase ventilation. When the temperature is too high, it is best to move them into an air-conditioned room for protection, place them in a brighter spot, and let them receive some scattered light. Spray some water in the morning and evening to increase humidity and keep the leaves emerald green and glossy.

That is all for orchid care. If flower enthusiasts have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
