Kalanchoe summer care: be sure to remember these two points

Gardeners often leave comments saying that their kalanchoe plants tend to develop yellow leaves as soon as summer arrives, and they ask Chengcheng what the reason is.
In fact, no matter what kind of flower you grow, summer is a critical hurdle, and kalanchoe is the same. When summer comes, it enters a dormant period, and care during this time is different from usual!
First,During its dormant period, kalanchoe has fairly high requirements for ventilation. If the ventilation conditions are poor, it will develop yellow leaves! So when summer comes, we should place the kalanchoe in a spot with diffused light, open the windows more, and maintain a certain amount of ventilation for it!
Second,In summer, after the kalanchoe becomes dormant, its demand for water becomes very low, so we should not water it frequently. Be sure not to water until the soil has dried out completely, and when you do water, water it thoroughly. After watering thoroughly, move it to a place with very good ventilation so the potting soil can quickly reach a half-dry state, avoiding the potting soil staying wet for a long time and causing root rot!
Third,In summer, the kalanchoe not only has a lower demand for water, but basically no demand for nutrients either! At this stage, we had better not fertilize it, because it has basically stopped growing. After fertilizing, the roots cannot absorb it, which will burn the roots!
As long as you pay attention to these points, the kalanchoe generally will no longer develop yellow leaves in summer. When the weather cools down and it has smoothly passed through the dormant period, we can then place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight, give it normal care and normal fertilizing, and before long, it will rapidly sprout flower buds!
