Strengthen field management after rice transplanting

After rice transplanting, field management should be strengthened in a timely manner to promote early growth of rice. The following technical measures should mainly be implemented: Strengthen water and slurry management. For fields with large rice seedlings transplanted, after transplanting, the irrigation method of deep water for survival and shallow water for tillering should be adopted to ensure early survival of seedlings and early tillering. For direct-seeded fields, after sowing, a run-off irrigation should be applied in a timely manner to ensure early emergence and early uniform emergence of seedlings. At the same time, field ditches should be cleared and properly laid out to ensure both irrigation and drainage. At the 2-leaf 1-heart stage, a shallow water layer should be established to promote early tillering.

Apply tillering fertilizer early. After rice turns green and survives, apply tillering-promoting fertilizer in a timely manner, generally 5-7.5 kg of urea per mu. 7-10 days after the first topdressing, depending on the amount of tillering in the field and the changes in seedling leaf color, apply an appropriate amount of balanced fertilizer or strong tillering fertilizer, using 3-4 kg of urea per mu. For fields with insufficient basic stem and tiller seedlings, as well as machine-transplanted and direct-seeded fields, appropriately increase the application of tillering fertilizer multiple times.

Control weeds in a timely manner. 5-7 days after transplanting, select compound herbicides such as butachlor and bensulfuron-methyl to control field weeds. After application, maintain a shallow water layer for 5-7 days.

Strengthen pest and disease control. Each year, the population of small brown planthopper is large and the virus-carrying rate is high. Rice stripe leaf blight has a trend of major epidemic, and the planting area of susceptible varieties such as Wuyujing 3 and Wuyunjing 8 has increased. Therefore, in addition to transplanting with medication, the first application should be carried out immediately 3-5 days after rice transplanting, and another application should be made after 4-7 days. For japonica rice, apply 3-4 times consecutively; for hybrid rice, apply twice consecutively.

Promote seedling transformation. If improper fertilizer and water management or adverse factors such as abnormal weather cause stagnant seedlings and no growth, promptly spray the corresponding growth regulators to promote seedling transformation.
