Key field application techniques for insect pheromone trapping and killing of pests
Field usage method: Cut open the seal of the packaging bag and take out one lure core. For users of adhesive or dry universal types, simply insert the lure core into the lure core holder. The trap should be placed at a height of 20CM above the crop surface. Place them according to the principle of “dense on the periphery, sparse in the middle.” Greenhouses need to allow air circulation. Only after a small number of adults have been detected should they be placed over a large area. Check the number of trapped insects at regular intervals. Clean out dead insects from the trap in a timely manner; do not casually dump the collected dead insects in the field. The lure core needs to be replaced every 4-6 weeks. The trap can be reused. Storage method for sex pheromones: Sex pheromone products are volatile, so they need to be stored in a refrigerator at a relatively low temperature (-15 to -5°C). The storage location should be kept away from high-temperature environments, and the lure core should avoid direct sunlight. Open the sealed packaging bag only before use. For the capillary type, cut open the seal only when using. Due to the high sensitivity of sex pheromones, when installing lure cores for different pest species, it is necessary to wash hands to avoid contamination. Once the packaging bag has been opened, it is best to use all the lure cores as soon as possible. The position, height, and airflow conditions where the trap is placed will affect the trapping effect. Sex pheromones attract adults, so trapping should begin at low density.
