Raising rabbits in rural areas requires passing four hurdles, sharing farming experience

Raising rabbits at scale now requires large investment and carries big risks, making it very hard to profit. The main issue is the cost of building rabbit housing, cages and feed, which is too high. For those just starting to raise rabbits, with no technology or experience at all

(One) It is very hard to get past the breeding stock hurdle. There are very few good rabbit breeds now, and most are crossbred offspring, so degeneration is severe. What you buy back at a high price is mostly mixed commercial rabbits, and many breeding rabbits carry pathogens, so they easily get sick after you bring them home.
(Two) The feed hurdle. The pelleted feed produced by many manufacturers now is not up to standard nutritionally. If the quality were up to standard, the cost would be too high and it would not sell well, so quality is very hard to guarantee. More importantly, because the south is humid and rainy, feed grass meal easily grows mold. After rabbits eat this kind of pelleted feed, they develop chronic disease over the long term, and the mortality rate is very high. This does great harm to the rabbit farming business.
(Three) The technical hurdle. Few people now truly understand all the techniques of raising rabbits, let alone epidemic prevention procedures. So when rabbits get sick, treatment results are poor and the mortality rate is very high. Proper requirements say that many sick rabbits must be culled and slaughtered, as they have no treatment value, and keeping them does great harm to preventing disease later!
(Four) The sales hurdle. Many farms' commercial rabbits can only be sold to small traders, and this cuts income by at least 10 yuan per rabbit. (Five)
When raising rabbits in rural areas, you can use empty houses, wild grass and wild vegetables, and crop products, which can greatly reduce farming costs. Rural air is good, so rabbits rarely get sick. If a clever person raises rabbits in a rural area, investing a few thousand yuan and earning ten thousand yuan a year is very easy to achieve.
