The Impact of Continuous Rainy Weather on Aquaculture and Countermeasures
The impact of continuous rainy weather on aquaculture and countermeasures?
In midsummer, the impact of more than 20 consecutive days of rainy weather on aquaculture and countermeasures, especially the impact on and countermeasures for oriental river prawns and South American white shrimp that have already been gradually marketed.
With continuous rainy weather, thunderstorms and muggy weather occur from time to time, the air pressure is relatively low, the excrement of farmed animals increases, water quality is extremely prone to deterioration, and oxygen deficiency is particularly likely, which can also easily lead to poisoning accidents. During the plum rain period, various disease problems will appear, and they are also very risky to handle; in severe cases, losses may be very large. Therefore, this period is a dangerous season when water quality is prone to change and diseases break out and spread. The vast number of aquaculture farmers should always pay attention to weather changes and actively carry out aquaculture management.
1. Strengthen water quality regulation. During this period, the food intake of fish and shrimp increases, and accumulated residual bait and excrement continuously increase, so water quality at this stage is prone to deterioration, with oxygen deficiency or insufficient dissolved oxygen appearing. Therefore, water quality regulation is the key technology at this stage. Specifically, several points should be done well:
(1) Frequently add fresh water, continuously raise the water level, and appropriately replace part of the bottom water.
(2) Frequently turn on aerators, especially at night and in the latter half of the night. When encountering showers, continuous muggy weather, or sudden weather changes, the operating time should be extended, and granular oxygen should be used in coordination. For shrimp culture ponds, granular oxygen should be used once every 2 to 3 days as much as possible.
(3) For ponds without aerators, it is recommended to use granular oxygen once every 3 to 5 days (best used in the latter half of the night) to increase dissolved oxygen at the pond bottom and reduce the generation of harmful substances at the pond bottom. For those with relatively high culture density and unstable water quality, the frequency of use should be increased.
(4) Use beneficial microbial preparations and substrate improvers such as EM bacteria, Baoyu'an, Huoshuibao, and Digaijing to improve water quality and substrate. They can be used at the same time as granular oxygen, once every 7 to 10 days, which can eliminate harmful substances produced by the decomposition of organic matter at the bottom, inhibit the reproduction of pathogenic bacteria, maintain good water quality, and prevent substrate deterioration.
(5) During continuous rainy weather, pond water transparency is often not high. Biological preparations such as photosynthetic bacteria and Suxiao Shuijingbao can be used to increase transparency, purify water quality, and prevent water deterioration. For ponds with relatively high culture density and relatively deep pond water, lime milk should also be properly splashed, using 4 to 5 kg per mu at 1 m water depth. However, saline-alkali ponds and ponds with high pH values do not need this treatment.
2. Ensure feed quality and control the feeding amount. Feed quality must be guaranteed, fresh and not spoiled. Compound feed should be protected from mold and deterioration, and the amount purchased at one time should not be too much. For the culture of snakehead, sea bass, and others, the feeding of chilled fresh bait should be reduced to avoid polluting water quality. The feeding amount should be flexibly controlled according to weather, water quality changes, and actual feeding conditions. During muggy and showery weather, the feeding amount should be reduced to avoid causing fish and shrimp to regurgitate food. During the plum rain season, the feeding amount is generally controlled so that fish and shrimp are 70% to 80% full.
3. Do a good job in disease prevention and control disease occurrence. During this period, the main diseases of fish are hemorrhagic disease, enteritis disease, gill rot disease, white head and white mouth disease, and white skin disease. Therefore, Yu Jun Qing, allicin, and Sanhuang powder (added at 1%) and others should be added to the feed and fed continuously for about 5 days. At this time, river crabs mainly suffer from ciliates, black gill and gill rot, shell ulcer, and enteritis disease, and norfloxacin powder plus Jundushaxing (added at 1%) can be used for continuous feeding for 3 to 5 days. Three to four days after insecticide and disinfection, compound Bacillus and Digaijing can be used together with granular oxygen to improve and stabilize the water environment. During the plum rain period, Vc, multivitamins, allicin (enteritis is prone to occur in the plum rain season), live bacteria (EM bacteria, Bacillus), traditional Chinese medicine Sanhuang powder, immune polysaccharides, and others can be appropriately added to the feed to improve the digestive capacity of farmed animals, enhance stress resistance, and enhance disease resistance. For South American white shrimp during the plum rain season, rainy weather, thunderstorms, and muggy weather changes have a particularly large impact on their culture ecological environment, very easily causing stress reactions and triggering diseases. Recently, South American white shrimp have had relatively many disease outbreaks, and the spread is wide. The urgent task is to do the following points well for the reference of shrimp farmers.
