Pig Farming Method of Optimal Feeding in the Early Stage and Restricted Feeding in the Late Stage
(Agricultural Wealth Network) In the early stage of growth and development of fattening pigs (before 60 kg), growth is mainly of skin, bone, and meat, with weak fat deposition capacity but high growth intensity, and less feed consumed per unit of weight gain. This intense growth period should be seized for intensive feeding, implementing optimal feeding. Satisfy their requirements for protein, minerals, and vitamins, and feed compound feed suitable for the pigs' nutritional needs.
The formula is as follows:

1. Feed formula for 10-30 kg fattening pigs (%): corn 31, wheat bran 38, soybean 4, rapeseed cake 8, fish meal 7, unified bran 10, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1, calcium carbonate 0.5, salt 0.5.

2. Feed formula for 30-60 kg fattening pigs (%): corn 27, wheat bran 28, soybean 3, broken rice 7, rapeseed cake 8, fish meal 5, unified bran 15, oil bran 5, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1, calcium carbonate 0.5, salt 0.5.

In terms of feeding method, they should be allowed to eat freely without restriction, so as to fully unleash their production potential and lay the foundation for restricted feeding and fattening in the late stage. Adopting this fattening method of high nutrition in the early stage and low nutrition in the late stage, with open feeding in the early stage and restricted feeding in the late stage, plays a decisive role in improving the pig's carcass and lean meat rate.

After 60 kg, feeding should be appropriately restricted to reduce the rate of fat deposition. Late-stage restricted feeding generally limits the free intake by 15%-20%. There are three methods: first, reduce the energy concentration of the feed while still allowing free intake; second, limit the amount of compound feed, not letting them eat their fill completely, but eating until 80% or 90% full; third, increase the proportion of green and roughage feed and appropriately reduce concentrate, which can both meet the requirements of restricted feeding and satisfy the pigs' nutritional needs for feed, but the crude fiber content must not exceed 10% in the late stage and not exceed 6% in the early stage. The formula is as follows:

3. Feed formula for 60-90 kg fattening pigs (%): corn 32, wheat bran 28, soybean 3, broken rice 5, rapeseed cake 8, fish meal 3, unified bran 15, oil bran 5, calcium hydrogen phosphate 0.5, calcium carbonate 0.5.
