Master the technical essentials to grow good tea

As people conduct in-depth research on tea in the field of human health,it will drive the development of tea cultivation. Only when tea garden management is relatively scientific and tea plants grow luxuriantlycan high-quality tea leaves be produced and good economic benefits generated.

   1. Cold resistance and freeze protection

Spray “Xingaozhimo” on the tea garden so that the plant body quickly forms a protective film, for drought resistance, freeze damage prevention, moisture retention and soil moisture conservation. In addition, spreading grass in the tea garden can regulate soil temperature, reduce drought andfreeze damage, prevent soil erosion, suppress weeds and increase soil organic matter content. Before drought damage arrives in June to July and before cold damage arrives in September to October, spread the covering between the rows of the tea garden at a distance of about 10 cm beyond the root and stem area of the tea plants.

   2. Reasonable pruning

The most suitable pruning period for tea plants is when the nutrient storage in the roots is at its highest.First, from the beginning of winter dormancy until before the spring tea buds;second, after the spring tea ends until before the summer tea buds. When pruning, remove diseased and pest-infested branches, increase ventilation and light penetration inside the canopy, and reduce and suppress the occurrence and spread of pests and diseases. For large wounds caused by pruning, apply “Yushang Fangfumo” to seal them, prevent pest and disease invasion and wound cracking, promote early wound healing, and help the plant body recover its growth.

   3. Pest and disease control

Prune and remove diseased and pest-infested branches: for tea geometrid, tea bagworm moth, tea buprestid beetle, tea black spot disease and others, the damaged branches can be removed manually.

Clear the garden and remove weeds: promptly clear fallen branches and leaves in the tea garden, eradicate weeds in and around the tea garden, and gather them for composting, which can eliminate the fungal sources of many leaf diseases, destroy the overwintering sites of many pests, and reduce the overwintering survival rate.

Spray to seal the garden: for tea gardens with severe pest and disease outbreaks, spray “Hushu Jiangjun”to eliminate overwintering pest eggs and can control various cortical disease spots;for tea gardens with severe outbreaks of mites such as the pink tea rust mite, spray 0.5 degree BaumĂ© lime sulfur mixture to seal the garden.
