Successful case of Bacillus strains degrading organic matter in water and improving water transparency
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Bacillus freeze-dried powder is a highly concentrated pure microbial preparation. It overcomes the shortcomings of traditional microbial preparations such as short shelf life and low viable bacteria content. It is a biological preparation that is mixed and used immediately, greatly ensuring the content and activity of viable bacteria.
Below is a brief introduction to the functional characteristics of Bacillus strains and their application in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong.
Symptoms: There was a grass carp pond of about 10 mu. Before medication, the symptoms were that the fish surfaced for more than ten hours every day. The water quality conditions were: ammonia nitrogen at 0.5, nitrite at 0.06, pH at 7.0. Dissection and microscopic examination showed no lesions or parasite infestation. It was green turbid water with very low transparency. When the water was placed in a glass bottle, many suspended particles could be seen.
Treatment method and effect: 2 bottles of Shibide Bacillus strains were used. A simple culture method was applied: after culturing the viable bacteria for 24 hours, they were diluted with water and evenly splashed over the entire pond. Three days later, the grass carp no longer surfaced, and the water transparency increased greatly, and the water quality also became clear and fresh.
Analysis and summary: This case fully utilized the ability of Bacillus to rapidly decompose the excrement of aquatic animals, residual feed and organic pollutants, eliminate water odor, purify water quality and improve transparency. In this water body, organic matter was the main cause of water hypoxia. On one hand, organic matter consumed dissolved oxygen in the water; on the other hand, it caused low water transparency, affecting algal photosynthesis, thereby causing long-term hypoxia in the fish. The use of Bacillus strains fundamentally solved the problem of hypoxia in grass carp.
