Five precautions for oyster mushroom wall cultivation
(Agricultural Wealth Network)      Pay attention to the disinfection of the fill soil. In oyster mushroom wall cultivation, the incidence of fruiting body diseases is high, which is related to unclean fill soil. Be sure to take clean soil and disinfect it before use. Two kinds of fill soil should be prepared: for sealing the edges, choose soil with greater stickiness to prevent the mushroom wall from leaking water; for the internal nutritional soil fill, choose fertile garden soil. Whichever kind of soil it is, dig it from more than 10 cm below the ground surface, sun-dry it for 3 days, then add 1% lime and 0.1% carbendazim, mix well and disinfect. For the nutritional soil, additionally add 0.5% phosphate fertilizer and 0.3% urea.

The mushroom bags must not be too long. For wall cultivation with mushrooms emerging from one end, the bags should not be too long; generally 25 cm is better.

Do not build the mushroom wall too early. Do not remove the bags and build the wall as soon as the bags have just been fully colonized by mycelium; start building the wall after yellow water is exuded (reaching physiological maturity) or when primordia begin to form. When building the wall, place bags of the same physiological maturity together, so that mushrooms emerge uniformly and management is convenient.

Water supplementation inside the mushroom wall should be appropriate. Water should be supplemented in a timely and appropriate amount according to the physiological needs of oyster mushrooms and the dry-wet condition of the substrate. In the early stage, when the water content inside the bags is high, supplement less water, just bringing the substrate moisture to 20%. After harvesting one flush of mushrooms, a heavy watering can be given once (it should be done after stopping watering and resting the mycelium for a few days).

Regulate the humidity of the air and the substrate surface. After harvesting one flush of mushrooms, not only should water be supplemented into the mushroom wall, but the air should also be humidified to keep the substrate surface moist. If the substrate surface is found to be too dry, spray water to supplement moisture, then cover with plastic film. After primordia form, remove the film and keep the air humidity at about 80%.

How many jin of oyster mushrooms does one bag of oyster mushroom spawn produce? A 3 kg oyster mushroom substrate bag can generally produce 1-1.5 kg of oyster mushrooms.
