Seven Remedial Measures After Greenhouse Vegetables Are Frozen
(Agricultural Wealth Network)    After frost damage occurs, water promptly; watering can increase the soil heat capacity, stabilize the surface and greenhouse air temperature, inhibit the drop in ground temperature, and effectively reduce and control the development of frost damage. The amount of water applied should be enough to reach the plow layer; never flood-irrigate, so as to avoid low-temperature high-humidity conditions causing vegetable root rot.

After greenhouse vegetables suffer frost damage, do not immediately close the greenhouse to raise the temperature; if the temperature rises too quickly, the frozen tissues will dehydrate and die. The correct method is to ventilate and lower the temperature, letting the greenhouse temperature rise slowly, so that the frozen tissues can fully absorb water, promote cell revival, and reduce tissue death.

After greenhouse vegetables suffer frost damage, the frozen stems and leaves should be pruned promptly, so as to prevent the frozen tissues from becoming moldy and diseased and inducing disease.

Erecting shade inside the greenhouse can prevent frozen vegetables from losing water due to direct sunlight.

For frozen plants, applying an appropriate amount of quick-acting fertilizer together with watering can improve the crop's nutritional status, enhance the plant's cold and frost resistance, and promote early recovery of plant growth.

Foliar spraying saves fertilizer and acts faster than soil topdressing; spraying should be done reasonably according to the fertilizer requirements of different crops. Adding an appropriate amount of gibberellin when spraying foliar fertilizer gives better results.

After plants are frozen, pests and diseases can easily take advantage of the weakness; some protective agents and disease-and-pest control chemicals should be applied promptly.
