Grow an apple tree on your balcony: bright red and festive, easy on the eyes, and a symbol of peace and safety

An indoor balcony is truly a magical place. You can grow flowers, you can grow vegetables, and you can also grow a small apple tree in a pot. It looks lovely and easy on the eye, bright red and festive, and it also symbolizes peace and safety. It is really so worth it.
A potted apple tree can beautify the home and green the environment, and it can bear fruit every year. The fruit it produces can even be picked and eaten, so it truly serves multiple purposes at once. How do you grow an apple tree in a pot? Let us take a look together!
Because the root system of an apple tree is very well developed, you should choose a deep and large flower pot, so it can provide enough growing space and enough nutrients. It is also recommended to use a clay pot, which has good breathability and is more suitable for the growth of the apple tree's root system.
For the soil, choose soil rich in humus, and its drainage and permeability must be good. You can use garden soil plus leaf mold plus fermented chicken manure, then mix in a little carbendazim and stir them together. This kind of soil can make the root system grow thick and strong and make the apple tree flourish with lush branches and leaves.
When potting, compact the soil around the apple sapling and first place it in a cool place. After it has fully adapted to the pot, move it to a place with plenty of sunlight for care. Generally, when the leaves are no longer wilting and new leaves grow, it means it has survived.
During the care period, control the height of the plant. After all, space is limited, and if it grows too tall, it is not suitable for potting either. Moreover, if the branches grow excessively long, the shape is not very attractive, which directly lowers the ornamental effect. So for densely growing branches, excessively long branches, diseased branches and old branches, all should be pruned away together.
Before flowering, apply additional phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. It is recommended to apply some organic fertilizers, such as decomposed chicken manure, rapeseed fertilizer, soybean cake fertilizer and so on. This can make the fruit sweeter and the color even brighter red and more attractive.
Usually strengthen ventilation and air exchange, otherwise it easily attracts pests and diseases. In summer, it is best to place it outdoors for care, so there is plenty of sunlight and good ventilation, and it is also more suitable for the growth of the apple tree. If pests do appear, being outdoors also makes it easier to spray insecticide. If your home has no terrace and no courtyard, then you cannot spray pesticide, and you can make some green insecticides yourself, such as chili water, garlic water, ash water and so on. All of these can kill and prevent pests!
