Determining the sowing rate for direct-seeded rapeseed
(Agricultural Wealth Network) The sowing quantity of direct-seeded rapeseed should be determined according to the thousand-grain weight: for varieties with a large thousand-grain weight, the sowing quantity can be appropriately increased; conversely, for varieties with a small thousand-grain weight, the sowing quantity should be appropriately reduced. Generally, the sowing quantity is 0.25 kg per mu. For relay intercropping, it can be appropriately increased. Rapeseed grains are small, so it is fairly difficult to achieve sparse and uniform sowing. When sowing, plant ash or fine soil can be added, and 3 to 4 kg of urea per mu can be added and mixed evenly for broadcasting, which not only helps achieve sparse and uniform sowing but also helps the seedlings absorb enough nutrients as soon as they emerge, meeting their growth and development needs.
