Growth Characteristics of Direct-Seeded Rapeseed in Spring and After Spring
(Agricultural Wealth Network) After direct-seeded rapeseed enters the spring growth stage, just like transplanted rapeseed, the plant's vegetative growth accelerates, and it shifts from being dominated by vegetative growth before spring to the simultaneous vegetative and reproductive growth during the bud and bolting stage and being dominated by reproductive growth during the flowering stage, until vegetative growth basically stops at the final flowering stage. After the full flowering stage of direct-seeded rapeseed, root activity gradually declines, and the photosynthetic advantage of the leaves is gradually replaced by the increasingly larger and thicker pod layer. 40% of rapeseed yield comes from photosynthesis by the pod shells of the pod-bearing layer. In production, cultivation measures should be used to improve the light conditions of the pod-bearing layer so that large pods form in the middle and upper parts of the pod-bearing layer.
