Wuning Black Sesame Variety Characteristics and Origin Introduction

(Agricultural Wealth Network) An excellent farm variety from Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. Single-stem type. The plant is relatively short, generally 105 to 112 cm tall. The lowest fruiting position is 37 cm, with an average internode spacing of 4.1 to 5 cm. Each node bears 5 to 7 capsules, with 110 to 115 capsules per plant. One leaf bears three flowers, and the capsules are 4-angled. Each capsule contains about 90 seeds, the seed weight per plant is 12.5 g, and the 1000-seed weight is 2.5 g. At maturity, the stems and capsules remain green and the capsules do not split easily. It is drought-tolerant and waterlogging-tolerant, with relatively strong disease resistance. The seed coat is pure black, and the seed oil content is about 51%. The whole growth period is 85 to 90 days. The general yield is 75 kg per mu, with a maximum of up to 100 kg.
