Soil conditions suitable for sesame growth
(Agricultural Wealth Network) Sesame is best planted on relatively high ground that is easy to drain and irrigate, with relatively loose soil and ample sunlight, which favors seedling emergence and full stands as well as ventilation and light penetration, and with good air and water permeability; the soil pH should preferably be between 6 and 7.5. Saline-alkali land and overly acidic red soil and marshy land are not suitable for growing sesame.
