Division of the flowering stages of sesame
(Agricultural Wealth Network) The date when the plant stops flowering is the final flowering stage. The period from flowering to the end of flowering is generally called the flowering period. A long flowering period means more capsules per plant and higher yield per unit. The length of the flowering period is related to variety, sowing date and temperature; for summer sowing it is generally 24 to 38 days. For the same variety, the flowering period of spring sowing is 7 to 10 days longer than that of summer sowing, and that of autumn sowing is 10 to 15 days shorter than that of summer sowing.
