The potted plant my mother picked up and cared for became covered with fruit, drawing neighbors to gather and watch

The potted plant Mom picked up beside the trash, after being cared for a while, was covered with fruit all over the tree, and the uncles and aunties around all came to join the fun!
Mom is 58 years old today. After retiring from the factory, she stays home to help look after the grandchildren. But for someone as restless as her, she still has to plant some scallions and garlic in the small yard all day long. She says she is used to doing things, and being idle at home all of a sudden feels really uncomfortable, so doing a bit of work at home makes her life feel more fulfilling.
After finishing lunch in the afternoon, Mom takes the grandchildren for a walk in the square and joins the uncles and aunties in square dancing. Well, one afternoon not long ago, after Mom finished square dancing and was walking the children home, she passed by the trash can on our Maple Leaf Road and saw a potted plant on the verge of death, with even the flower pot smashed. For a frugal and simple Mom, running into something like this was definitely not to be passed up. Because our neighbor Uncle Wang's house grows a lot of stump bonsai, so taking this opportunity, she picked up this bonsai and gave it a try to see if it could be kept alive. It turned out this was a pyracantha (firethorn) bonsai, with yellowed leaves and some branches already dried up.
After taking it home, Mom quickly found a pot and went to our neighbor Uncle Wang to ask him to help assess whether it could be planted alive, and asked Uncle Wang to help and explain how it should be planted. He also taught my mom a few tips on caring for pyracantha bonsai. Uncle Wang said that to care for pyracantha, you should do the following:
First, pyracantha likes a warm and humid environment, and you need to ventilate it regularly, otherwise it is prone to diseases. Pyracantha grows best in an environment with a temperature of 20-30°C, needs sufficient light, and should be given a longer period of sunlight. Pyracantha is relatively cold-tolerant and can overwinter easily. If the ambient temperature where pyracantha grows in winter is too high, it will affect the flowering and fruiting of pyracantha the following year.
Second, pyracantha has low requirements for soil, but for the plant to grow and develop well, you should still choose sandy soil with relatively deep soil layers, relatively loose soil, and good drainage for planting. Normally, you can regularly apply some nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of pyracantha's branches and leaves. When the flowering period is about to arrive, you can apply some phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer to promote lush flowering and also to promote the ripening of the fruit. In winter, there is no need to fertilize, so that pyracantha can pass through its dormant period.
Third, pyracantha is very drought-tolerant, but in winter the soil tends to dry out, so you can water it appropriately. During the flowering period, you can keep the soil on the drier side, which is good for pyracantha's fruiting. If the flowering period coincides with the rainy season, pay attention to drainage. After harvesting the fruit and before entering the dormancy period, water enough for overwintering, and then do not water during the dormancy period.
While talking, Uncle Wang potted Mom's pyracantha, and afterward taught Mom some things to pay attention to in the daily care of pyracantha. Under Mom's careful management and care, after some time, this pyracantha bonsai that had nearly lost its life was covered with dense fruit all over its branches, which made Mom very excited. She hurriedly told Uncle Wang and the others the news, and when the uncles and aunties heard it, they all came to look, and they were very envious! At the same time, in the future when we encounter things like this, we can also be a bit more attentive, because this not only saves the life of a plant, but can also bring ourselves a pleasant and good mood. Regarding a situation like this, I wonder what you think?
