The umbrella plant has a strong modern feel, and growing it at home creates a natural and harmonious green environment. How should you water an umbrella plant to keep it healthy? The watering method differs at different stages and needs to be based on soil moisture, temperature changes and growth rate. The right watering method ensures healthy plant growth and lush foliage. Let's look at how to water an umbrella plant.

How to water an umbrella plant:

(1). Spring and autumn

Spring and autumn are the peak growing seasons for the umbrella plant. Generally, water 1~2 times every 1 week. Specifically, this still depends on how dry the potting soil is. Water thoroughly to keep the soil moist. When the temperature is higher, water 2 times a week; under normal conditions, watering 1 time is enough. This ensures the plant grows luxuriantly and keeps growing nonstop!

(2). Summer

Summer brings high temperatures, so you need to keep moisture sufficient. Watering is generally done 1 time per day, chosen in the morning. To take cooling and moisture-retaining measures, generally spray water on the leaves and surrounding area to maintain humidity and help lower the temperature. Water evaporates quickly, so you can spray water several more times.

(3). Winter

In winter, you can let the soil stay slightly dry, so watering needs to be reduced, generally 1 time every 7~15 days. Just avoid letting the soil become too dry. When watering, be careful that the water temperature is not lower than 8°C.

(4). Potting or repotting

When planting and repotting, after potting you need to water immediately and water thoroughly until water flows out of the drainage holes of the flowerpot. At the same time, this can test the drainage of the soil.

(5). Points to note

The umbrella plant likes moisture but is not tolerant of waterlogging. Do not water too much and cause water accumulation, otherwise root rot will occur.
