As people's living standards improve, more and more people have taken up growing flowers, and a pot of flowers at home beautifies the room while also purifying the air and cultivating the mind, hmm, it is a good thing that kills several birds with one stone, especially common foliage plants such as snake plants (Sansevieria), money trees (Pachira aquatica), asparagus ferns (Asparagus setaceus), pothos (Epipremnum aureum) and spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum), which are especially loved by most flower growers. These foliage plants are relatively easy to grow, and most people can keep them alive, but that is limited to just keeping them alive. If you want to grow them well, you really do need some small tricks. Today I will share a small method: pour a "3-cent" little "thing" into the pot, and the flowers and plants will "fly" as they grow, bursting the pot!

What exactly is this 3-cent little thing?

It is actually just some expired small pills. They really are amazing to use, inexpensive and convenient. Let's take a look below!

1. Add a little aspirin to the water, and the roots will not rot and will grow vigorously

For regular watering, crush aspirin and mix it with clean water at a ratio of 1:3000~5000. Watering with it can promote plant growth. This is mainly because aspirin contains salicylic acid, a substance that can promote plant growth, prevent invasion by disease-causing bacteria and promote rooting.

Pothos, asparagus ferns, snake plants and money trees cared for this way, including lucky bamboo, can all grow especially well, and new leaves emerge especially fast; some can burst the pot, and the leaves are still glossy green

Look at this snake plant, it has even split the flower pot, and the little shoots it has grown really are strong!

2. Add 3 cents' worth of it to the water, and the potting soil will no longer be alkaline, and the flowers will bloom big and fragrant

Put 1 vitamin C tablet into 1 pot of water, and after half a day it can be used to water flowers. It can remove chlorine from the water and also adjust the pH of the soil. It is relatively suitable for acid-loving flowers such as gardenias, jasmine, camellias and clivias.

It is suggested that flower growers use it twice a month, do not be greedy for more. Roses, gardenias and jasmine grown with this method can all bloom big and fragrant, and the flowering period is also extended. It really is simple and saves trouble.

With these small tricks, if we also pay attention to other care as usual, I believe your potted plants will soon fill the pot. Below, Xiaohua will share the watering methods for 3 common potted plants. I hope you like them!

1. How to water gardenias?

Water gardenias by the principle of "dry then wet." If the soil is too wet, the roots will suffocate from lack of oxygen and die, while the aboveground part will show yellow leaves and dropped buds. Especially after gardenias form buds, the amount of water must be controlled even more.

Generally, in spring and autumn, water once every 4 to 7 days; in summer, 3 to 4 times a day; in winter, once every 7 to 10 days.

In addition, usually also spray water on the leaves often to remove dust, which is beneficial to plant growth.

2. How to water pothos?

Pothos likes plenty of water and should be watered more than ordinary flowers, but it must not become waterlogged, and the saucer should be kept clean and emptied of standing water. Watering interval: 3-7 days. Clean the soil on the leaf surface in time, and spray water on the leaves every day.

This is even more necessary in the hot, dry summer season. The potting soil should be kept moist, and water should often be sprayed on the leaves to raise air humidity, so as to benefit the growth of aerial roots

3. How to water asparagus ferns?

Asparagus ferns have fleshy roots, so watering must be done carefully. Each watering should soak through, and you must not water only half-way, lest the roots and stems fail to absorb water and wither and die. The amount of water should not be too much or too little and should be reasonably controlled. When the potting soil is slightly dry, water in time. You should "water thoroughly when dry."

If the indoor air is too dry, spray water on the leaves in time to increase air humidity.

That is all for today's sharing
