What are the symptoms of sesame Fusarium wilt
Symptoms of sesame Fusarium wilt
(Agricultural Wealth Network) When the disease occurs at the seedling stage, the whole plant dies suddenly. When it occurs at a later stage, half of the root system on one side first turns brown, gradually extending to the same half of the stem, causing the leaves on that half of the stem to turn yellow and brown and droop. The diseased stem shows dry, reddish-brown streaky lesions, and in humid conditions a layer of red powder appears on the lesions. The vascular bundles on the diseased half of the stem become blocked, and the pathogen secretes toxins, causing leaves to drop; the capsules on that half become smaller, ripen prematurely or die, and the seed set is high in shriveled grains, with capsules splitting and grains dropping. From the appearance of symptoms to death or maturity, this disease always shows half-side yellowing.
