This variety has oily black, glossy skin, an oval fruit shape that is neat and well-proportioned, and bright red flesh that is sandy-crisp with good quality. It has good marketability and is even more favored by melon merchants in the south; in watermelon markets such as Kaifeng in Henan, the selling price of marketable melons is even higher than that of seedless watermelons. It is suitable for cultivation in the dry season in both the north and the south.
