What are the common types of plastic mulch used for watermelon

1. Ordinary transparent film, the earliest and most widely used plastic mulch, has a light transmittance of about 80% to 94%, has a certain strength, can withstand wind and rain during the growing season, and can raise ground temperature by 2 to 4°C. Generally, the film thickness is 0.007 to 0.02 mm, and the width is 50 to 150 cm.
2. Silver-gray film, highly reflective, can enhance the intensity of reflected light on the bed surface, and also has the effect of repelling aphids, so it can be used as a special film for aphid control.
3. Black film, has a shading effect, can increase soil temperature by 1 to 3°C in spring, and can effectively prevent soil moisture evaporation and suppress weeds. The yield-increasing effect of black film is about 30% higher than that of ordinary transparent film.
