Detailed Introduction to the Morphological Characteristics of Lubbei Dongzao Jujube
The fruit of the Lubbei Dongzao jujube is medium-sized, nearly round, smooth and glossy, closely resembling a small apple. The average fruit weight is 12 to 17 g, with the largest fruit reaching 23 g. The fruits are uniform in size, with thin, crisp skin of a reddish-brown color, and do not split. The flesh is greenish-white, fine-textured and juicy, with no residue, a rich sweet taste with slight acidity, and a faint grassy flavor. The soluble solids content is 34 to 38% after coloring and reaches 40 to 42% when fully red, giving it an excellent quality for fresh eating. It ripens in mid-October. The tree is small with strong branching ability, a compact shape, dense branches and leaves, and moderate yield. It bears consistently and has strong disease resistance.
