Morphological characteristics of Chengwu winter jujube
The Chengwu winter jujube fruit is large, oblong-elliptical or long ovoid, with an average fruit weight of 25.8 g and a maximum fruit weight of 32 g. The fruit surface is glossy, with shallow grooves and ridges, and the peel is relatively thick and reddish-brown. The flesh is thick, milky white, fine in texture, relatively crisp, and moderately juicy, with a sweet and slightly sour taste. At the crisp-ripe stage, the soluble solids content is 35 to 37%, and the edible rate is 97.8%, giving it top-grade fresh-eating quality. It ripens from late September to early October. The tree is large, vigorous, strongly upright in habit, with weak branching ability, poor adaptability, and intolerance to drought.
