Morphological characteristics of Yiwu jujube
The Yiwu jujube tree is vigorous, with fairly strong trunk dominance and moderate branching ability; its leaves are relatively large and long-ovate. The fruit is large and cylindrical, with an average weight of 16.6 g, a broad apex and a slightly concave tip; the stalk cavity is deep, the skin is thin, and the fruit surface is light yellow-green before ripening, later turning ochre. The flesh is thick, loose in texture, with little juice and a mildly sweet flavor. The fruit turns white and is harvested for processing in early to mid-August, and it is best suited for making candied jujubes and southern jujubes. Pollinator trees should be planted when establishing an orchard.
