The influence of soil conditions on the growth and development of jujube trees

Jujube trees have strong adaptability to soil and can be cultivated in gravelly soil, sandy soil, coarse soil, as well as acidic soil and alkaline soil. Jujubes cultivated in sandy soil and gravelly soil have crisp skin and better fresh-eating quality. Jujube trees on deep, fertile loam soil grow vigorously, produce stable yields, and live long; while trees on poor, thin gravelly soil have small crowns, low and unstable yields, and are prone to early decline in tree vigor. A pH value between 5.5 and 8.2 is suitable for the growth of jujube trees.
