How to sow rootstock seeds? Detailed guide to sowing methods
Sowing methods for rootstock seeds
The nursery land for sowing rootstock requires deep soil, fertile texture, good drainage and a water source for irrigation, with sandy loam being the best soil type. Apply 3000 to 4000 kg of barnyard manure, 20 kg of urea and 20 kg of compound fertilizer per mu as base fertilizer. When the soil moisture content is suitable, plow 25 to 30 cm deep and make seedbeds. The bed width is 1 m, the bed ridge is 25 cm, and three sowing furrows are opened in the bed at 25 cm intervals, with a furrow depth of 2 to 3 cm. The seeds are sown in holes at the bottom of the furrow, with a spacing of 10 to 12 cm, 3 to 4 seeds per hole, and after covering with soil, cover with plastic film.
