How to collect scions for grafting? Correct methods and key technical points
Collection of scions for grafting
For scions used in stem grafting, one-year-old vigorous jujube shoots (zaotou) are best, growing vigorously after grafting; when the number of zaotou is insufficient, 2- to 3-year-old secondary branches may also be used. The quality of scions can be judged by the color of the pith: green is best, white is second best, and yellow ones are unlikely to survive after grafting. For bud grafting, buds should be taken from the current year's zaotou.
