Precautions to note when using ethylene to promote fruit drop

(1) Before application, according to local conditions, first conduct comparative trials of spraying time and concentration, and determine the optimal concentration and timing of use from them; (2) Fresh-eating varieties are not suitable for ethephon; (3) Ethephon has the effect of accelerating the aging of jujube leaves. Higher concentrations of ethephon will cause a large amount of leaf drop, and the concentration that causes leaf drop is relatively close to the practical concentration. Therefore, for varieties that are sensitive to ethephon and have poor tolerance, the spraying concentration must be precise; (4) Ethephon is not very stable in water and will slowly hydrolyze and lose effectiveness, so the spray solution must be prepared fresh before use.
