What are the control methods for the jujube looper?
Control of the jujube looper: (1) In autumn, turn over the orchard soil and pick out the pupae; (2) The plastic film and toxic rope method: in early spring when the adults are about to emerge, scrape off the old coarse bark from the middle and lower part of the trunk, tie a fan-shaped plastic film 20 cm wide, soak straw rope in a 2.5% deltamethrin solution at a dilution of 1 to 1000, and after it dries, tie it around the middle part of the plastic film, then roll the upper part of the plastic film downward and outward into a trumpet shape, so as to block and kill the female moths and larvae climbing up the tree; (3) The pole striking method: during the larval occurrence period, taking advantage of their death-feigning behavior, strike the branches with a pole, and manually capture and kill the larvae that fall to the ground; (4) Chemical control: during the larval occurrence period, determine the control timing according to the population density. When the population density is high, pyrethroid insecticides, diflubenzuron and similar agents can be used for control.
