Methods of Using Chinese Herbs to Prevent and Treat Common Diseases of Grass Carp
Branchial Necrosis Disease
Tuhuanglian (Coptis chinensis) is bitter and cold in nature and has the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying. For every 50 kg of fish, use 150 g of Tuhuanglian, 100 g of Baibu (Stemona japonica), 100 g of Yuxingcao (Houttuynia cordata), and 100 g of Daqingye (Isatis indigotica), grind into powder or decoct in water, remove the residue, and mix with bait for feeding. Every three days constitutes one treatment course. It has a good prevention and treatment effect on branchial necrosis disease in grass carp.
Grass Carp Hemorrhagic Disease
50% Kumu powder (Picrasma quassioides), 30% Huangbai powder (Phellodendron amurense), 10% Huangqin powder (Scutellaria baicalensis), 10% Dahuang powder (Rheum officinale). For every 100 kg of grass carp fingerlings, use 1 kg of this medicinal powder daily, add 0.5 kg of table salt, 3 kg of flour, 6 kg of wheat bran or rice flour, and 3 kg to 5 kg of rapeseed cake powder or soybean powder. Then add an appropriate amount of clean water and mix thoroughly to make semi-dry, semi-wet sinking medicinal bait the size of a fist. Place it on the feeding platform to feed the fish, or make it into floating extruded pellet feed and throw it into the feeding frame to feed the fish. Feed continuously for 5 to 10 days.
Enteritis Disease
100 g of Huanglian (Coptis chinensis), 200 g of Huangbai (Phellodendron amurense), 150 g of Kumu (Picrasma quassioides), 120 g of Jinyinhua (Lonicera japonica), 90 g of Shanzha (Crataegus pinnatifida), 60 g of Shichangpu (Acorus gramineus), 40 g of Jineijin (Gallus gallus domesticus inner lining), and 15 g of Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis), grind together into fine powder. Wet 10 kg of green grass, cut into 1.6 cm lengths, use a wooden stick or bamboo pole to block the green grass in a corner of the fish pond, and sprinkle the above medicinal powder on top of the green grass when there is no wind, letting the fish eat the grass together with the medicine. Give once every other day, and the fish will recover after 3 consecutive feedings. The above dosage is for 40 kg to 60 kg of fish.

Every 3 days constitutes one treatment course. It has a good treatment effect on red skin disease in grass carp.
